Attacked by a Noodle!

I just realized how long it has been since I blogged on my personal blog! I have two business blogs that I maintain too so sometimes my personal blog (and life) gets pushed to the back burner.... well today I had an experience I had to share!

I take a water aerobics class called Making Waves at the Bridges Resort in Warren. Due to some maintenance on their pool area we had our class up at the Sugarbush Health Center --- and it was fun - except for the noodle incident!

Rourke our instructor is fantastic! He is a funny guy, knows what he is doing, and is just plain energetic, you can't help but to "pick up the pace" around him. He knows his stuff!

Today we did this exercise where you put your toe on a noodle (you know those long squishy things that can hold up an elephant in the pool..) to do some leg exercises - the trick however was that the noodle was BEHIND you - so your leg is bent backwards and you push up and down. It was fun until the noodle slipped UP my leg into my ladies parts and flipped me over - I have crappy balance anyway - but this was awful! Although looking back on it I wish someone had a video as I'm sure it would have a million hits on youtube by now!

The point is I got BACK ON the noodle - with my other leg and did my exercises (granted a bit slower and more cautious).... which really brings me to the point of this entire incident. It wasn't that long ago in my life that I would have been embarrassed, humiliated and would have vowed not to go back as I would have been sure everyone was laughing at me. Today however, it was FUN... just FUN - and the people who actually noticed did laugh.. but WITH me. Maybe its my age and I just don't give a crap anymore - or maybe it's my self esteem saying "get over yourself" - whatever it was it made me realize that by trying something new and basically making a fool of myself didn't actually KILL me... or somehow damage me for life. Makes me wonder what else I'm going to try and make a bigger fool of myself. I hope it's something really really good!

Back to class on Thursday - I'm going to win the fight with the noodle however this time! Wish me luck.
